When You Need New Tires

Blog

The tires on your car are very important for your safety, the safety of everyone in your vehicle, and the safety of everyone else on the road near you. Your tires are what the car sets on, and therefore they are the first to dictate what your car's next move is. If your tires are in bad shape, then they can be problematic and dangerous for many reasons. Here are some of the signs to look for that indicate your tires need to be replaced by a tire service.

Trouble in the sidewalls

There are different types of problems you can see in the sidewalls that would tell you that you need to have the tire replaced. One of the things that you are going to want to look for are cracks in the sidewalls. Also, you want to look for gauges in any of them. Another problem you can have in a sidewall is an egg. An egg in the sidewall is a bump or bulge.

Tread wear that is uneven

If you have some tires with more wear, or tires that have certain parts of the tread that is wearing faster, then it's time for tire replacement. Also, you need to have the cause of the uneven wearing addressed.

A car that is vibrating

If your car is starting to vibrate when you are driving it, then it may be your tires causing this vibrating feeling. The vibration may be caused by internal tire damage, and this is something that you are going to want to have addressed immediately because it can lead to a horrible situation.

You are using a spare

If you had something happen to one of your tires and now you are driving around on a spare, then you want to get new tires. You should always replace all your tires at the same time so they wear evenly.

You see the wear bar

Newer models of tires now generally have what is called a wear bar. The wear bar is built right into the tire, and when your tread meets with this bar, then it means the time has come for you to have your tires replaced.

You have moved to a snowy region

If you have moved to a region where you are now going to be driving on snowy and icy roadways, then you want to buy tires that help to grip the road, such as winter tires or even studded tires.
